Matric exam timetable
The South African matric exams are the National Senior Certificate (NSC), written in the Oct/Nov session. Below is how the exam year is structured and every Grade 12 subject with its past papers to practise. For the exact date and time of each paper, use the official DBE timetable.
The exam year: four sessions
Oct/Nov finals (NSC matric)
The main National Senior Certificate exams. The big one - these are the papers your final matric result is built on. Runs late October into early December.
May/Jun midyear
Mid-year exams for many subjects, and the mid-year NSC sitting.
Aug/Sep trials (prelims)
Provincial trial or preliminary exams, written before the finals as a full dress rehearsal.
Feb/Mar supplementary
The supplementary sitting the following year for candidates who qualify to rewrite.
